Newcastle City Council Parks and Countryside Training section work in partnership with Trinity Solutions to provide 16-18 year old learners with the opportunity to develop the skills, knowledge and experience to prepare them for entry to Further Education, Apprenticeships or Employment and achieve a City and Guilds Level1 qualification.

Newcastle City Parks Department offer you the opportunity to:

  • Experience working within Newcastle City Council's parklands
  • Be trained by highly skilled staff with a wealth of experience within the industry
  • Gain Functional Skills qualifications in Maths, English and ICT
  • Receive additional experience working alongside park keepers
  • Work on actual Council projects and not simulated activities. Some examples of the things you will do include: strimming, mowing, chipping, pruning, felling, fencing, planting, land preparation and maintenance.
  • And an opportunity to earn up to £30 per week financial support.
